I excluded tracks I didn’t think would get many votes. 100% hands down my vote goes to three Wishes, easily a top 3 camel track for me and full of energy.

Asking specifically what works best as an opener, I'll go for First Light here. Camel have a great way to set off an album in a positive mood, also exemplified by some of the others. Freefall is a more aggressive one, also fine but rather atypical for them. Some of the not listed ones are also great; I always thought that Sasquatch, if not their most attractive track, worked excellently as opener of the Single Factor. City Life ("Wake up! Wake up!") is another great example, also Breathless starts well in a light positive way. Aristillus on the other hand is the most forgettable thing on Moonmadness by a huge distance, although I see why they chose this as starter.

I would have voted for "Pressure Points" but it's not on the list. Smile

First Light
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Now you're opening up a potential can of worms. I'd still rather open a can of worms than a can of camel. A cup of Camel-tea would be nice, with two humps of sugar. I actually remembered Can openers being done before as a poll: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=69871

A more obscure reference, but also Eye openers: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6981

While it's not my favourite track on it's own, I'm voting for The Great Marsh in the way that it helps to set-up the rest of the album (and The Snow Goose is my favourite by Camel).

Yes, Three Wishes gets my vote too. Great album (I could also say concert) opener.

I've always had a major appreciation for Freefall. Great album opener.
