Just saw this one on deFacebook.  It's by a new to me site called https://consequenceofsound.net . I must admit that some of them are new to me and the rest are very well know and I will think about it and do my own list. Big smile  So pick your favorite if you can.  The last choice full title didn't fit.  It was

The Dear Hunter – Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional (2016)

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

The Wall. It's the only album here that's a rock opera.

The Lamb ---it's still Peter Gabriel's fav (along with Suppers Ready)  from his time in the band---and after all these years it sounds fresh and way ahead of its time.

The Lamb is one of my favorite records of all time.
The second spot is a tie between Thick as a Brick and Metropolis pt.2
Those three are miles above the rest.
Then, I would give the fourth and fifth spot to Snow and The Human Equation respectively.
Two random guys agreed to shake hands. Just Because. They felt like it, you know. It was an agreement of sorts...a random agreement.

The full title didn't fit. That wasn't a comment on the music. LOL  I'll clarify.

The Dear Hunter certainly deserves a special mention for having one the longest titles.  I think only to be exceeded by Rick Wakeman's

The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

That Wakeman album definitely belongs on there. Apparently it inspired Alan Parsons to do concept albums.

Truthfully, none of those are really essential, in my opinion, though some are pretty good and I own 6 of them.
I'd consider The Snow Goose  (Camel), Subterranea (IQ), Grave New World (Strawbs) and The Tain (Horslips) to be light years ahead of any of them as proper concept albums.
