TOP 20 Genesis Songs - #4 First of all - I'm so sorry the project was put on hold in early March without notice. I needed a few weeks off the computer for medical reasons, and once I was 100% okay, I found it hard to find free time for Progarchives. Please accept my apologies.  If you're a newcomer - in each thread we're voting for the greatest GENESIS songs (following the method agreed upon here.) Every participant names three songs in order of preference: First song = 4.5 points Second song = 3 points Third song = 2 points After a couple of days I add up your "points" and announce the winning song for a current spot. Then we move on and vote for the next spot. All points are reset. Our goal is to come up with 20 songs so it might take some time (riiight..) Voting is closed. No. 4 song is... The Musical Box !!! 01. The Musical Box. 21.0 pts 02. Dancing with the Moonlit Knight. 11.0 pts 02. Watcher of the Skies. 11.0 pts 04. Can-Utility and the Coastliners. 9.5 pts 14 users cast their vote. My vote:
Can-Utility and the Coastliners [4.5 pts] Seven Stones [3.0 pts] Dancing with the Moonlit Knight [2.0 pts] The first is my favorite mini-epic in Genesis repertoire with fantastic buildup and exciting vocals. Prog Rock 101. Seven Stones is kinda similar, maybe less refined; it definitely oozes that mysterious atmosphere, so it's probably the first song I think of when Nursery Cryme is mentioned (heart of the album, imo). Moonlit Knight needs no explanation as it's firmly acknowledged as prime Genesis masterwork. |
