Interesting one, Pretty close for me but I've been listening to more Kansas lately so I gave them my vote.

Thick As A Brick is the best thing either band ever did but Kansas has way more good albums...

Tull for me but those first few Kansas albums are good. I think when comparing catalogues JT just has more to offer for me.

That’s a good description of my sentiments. In fact, if I had to choose a favorite album amongst the two, it would probably be one from Kansas. But, in terms of consistency over time, JT has the edge in my opinion. I love the early Kansas albums, the ones in the middle are a big step down (but still fine albums), and then there was a bit of a step up when Steve Morse joined. At least that’s my impression. I probably need to revisit some of their catalogue. I’ve been on more of a JT kick these days.

As much as I hate to see Kansas trounced so much in this poll, I have to be honest and vote my preference for Tull.

The clever kids will vote for Tull . I voted for the band that actually grabs me and their music means something, plus Steve Walsh is one the greatest musicians in prog rock. There I've said it.

I don't want to bash Kansas or anything, but if Tull ended their career after Aqualung, I'd still pick 'em. Really special band to me.

I think I will wait to hear the entire new Kansas album to make up my mind on a few things regarding this poll.
