The yes album 8.5/10 Fragile 8/10 Close to the edge 7.5/10 Tales of topographic oceans 7/10 Relayer 7/10 Going for the one 6.5/10 Tormato 8/10 Drama 7.5/10 I did an extended list Pretty much a gradual drop off after 1970 Tormato was a return to the fun Yes even with the funny synth sound Edited by dr prog - August 07 2020 at 18:04 |

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

CTTE 9.5. more of a 9 because AYAI doesn’t really hold my attention all the way thru, but worth an extra half point for being such a huge statement and for the other 2 tracks being flawless and awesome (maybe my 2 favorite Yes songs)
TYA 9 the one classic rock fans can most enjoy. Good rockin’ fun and being there first for a bold new ensemble sound they’d build on Relayer 8. Side one is one of the best things they ever did; side 2 is very good but not great Fragile 8. Never really got the point of the solo tracks (though they’re definitely good on their own), they just seem not to fit with the (awesome) long tracks. It’s a cohesion thing. Nothng really wrong with any of them. Edited by HolyMoly - August 07 2020 at 17:32 |

I consider the run of six albums including The Yes Album, Fragile, CTTE, TFTO, Relayer, and GFTO to be an unparalleled achievement-each a 5.0 in my book.

There's some cheating going on here. Didn't know you can use decimal points.

^Have started numerous threads about new bands. Have one going now. Little to no response. Love the old stuff also. We agree on Lee Morgan.

Bring up the discussions and bands you might have interest in. PA in general has introduced me to many many "new" artists, although today they may not be considered new, and a lot of them have not issued anything new in years some actually were one album wonders. I have so much music in my collection that I have little time it seems for new music, it can be work to listen to new stuff and not sure I have the patience at the moment. I have been really into jazz lately so that has steered me away from the rock genre, some of that very old music is new to me and its awesome!
