I Salici, an Italian "progressive" folk-rock band that is influenced by English Underground folk music scene of the late 60's and early 70's, were formed in 2009 in the area of Udine, North East Italy. After two EPs, their first full-length album titled "Sowing Light" has been released in 2015. I Salici's magnificent sophomore album "The Eyes of the Unconscious Riot" has been released as both CD and vinyl LP in April 2020, on "progressive" Italian label Lizard Records.
Members are:

MARCO STAFUZZA medioeval viella and mandola
DEVID STRUSSIAT vocals, acoustic and slide guitars, bass g., e-bow, sax, flutes, sound effects
STEFANO RAZZA drums and percussion
SIMONE PAULIN trumpet, horn, djambč
STEFANO RUSIN electric bass, double bass, percussions
MARCO FUMIS electric guitar and percussions

On re-listening, and conferring with Hugues, they seem more crossover to us.  Not a lot of folk in most of it.

thank you for showing us that I Salici can also play acoustic at the back of their yard around a campfire.

Can I just remind you that systematically: acoustic =/= folk

Here is what they do in concert:


not very "doubtlessly folky" you'll agreeWink (though there are traces of folk in their jams, which is why we are hesitating)

In other words, we (ProgArchives) thank you for an interesting suggestion (most of yours are, anyways) and we have taken it into consideration, and are in the process of accepting it

Very doubtlessly folky stuff indeed. But if you want to put them in the same section with Supertramp and Electric Light Orchestra, it's up to you.
