   Autolatry were an American extreme progressive metal band, active from 2009 to 2015 in Mansfield, Connecticut. Brothers Dave (guitars/bass) and Matt Kaminsky (drums) formed the project with vocalist Karl Chamberlain (of Alcyone), playing a technical and atmospheric style of black metal with lyrical themes devoted to New England history and tributes to the wilderness of eastern Connecticut. The band would remain unsigned for their existence and independently release all their work. Following a demo in 2010, the trio issued their debut The Hill, and the lineup would expand sometime afterward with the addition of guitarist Joe Makuch and bassist Dominic Testa. The quintet would follow up with the Of the Land EP in 2012, and fellow Alcyone member Sean Hart would replace Testa on bass. Native, Autolatry's sophomore and final album, was released in 2013, and was a loose concept album detailing stories of brutal early encounters between European settlers and indigenous populations. The band would conclude activities with a track for the Northeastern Hymns split in 2015, sharing the bill with like-minded groups Infera Bruo, Obsidian Tongue and In Human Form.
Autolatry's melodic and aggressive approach will appeal to fans of Agalloch, Wild Hunt, Cormorant, Dissection, Woods of Ypres and Enslaved.
