Fricara Pacchu is the electronic krautrock project of Finnish musician Kevin Regan, co-founder of the Lal Lal Lal record label and member of Avarus and Anaksimandros. Based in Helsinki, Regan composes bright, rhythmic and colourful instrumental miniatures bridging influences from motorik krautrock, techno, synth-pop, video game music and psychedelic rock - melodic and accessible while reliably hallucinogenic in the finest tradition of the Finnish experimental music scene. Regan released six LPs and two singles between 2004 and 2011 before a long period of silence. The project resurfaced nearly ten years later, with Regan issuing two Bandcamp-exclusive works which showed Fricara Pacchu dropping its joyful eccentricities, keeping its dance-music roots but moving in a colder and moody direction with a more slick and cleanly-produced style akin to James Ferraro, Aphex Twin or Pete Namlook.

Fricara Pacchu's playful and noisy idiosyncrasies place it in the orbit of artists like Kemialliset Ystävät, Sunroof!, Tomutonttu, Harmonia, Conrad Schnitzler and Bear Bones, Lay Low.

"Waydom" (2004)

I updated the subgenre as I get more and more Harmonia vibes from them (as it is I was confused from the start whether FP were krautrock or PE; so many bands blur the line).

I hope I'm not doing anything wrong here!
