Okay, proggers, or however someone may think of oneself, how about moving forward and after the classics

(mostly from the '70s) put some more focus on the '80s. I think that will be quite interesting, as well.

So beginning with some of my Prog Rock favourites, one album per band and unranked:

Agnus  (ARG)  -  Pinturas Y Expresiones   (1980)

Asia Minor  (TRK/F)  -  Between Flash And Divine   (1980)

Bacamarte  (BRA)  -  Depois Do Fim   (1983)

Bi Kyo Ran  (J)  -  Bi Kyo Ran   (1982)

Crimson Glory  (USA)  -  “Crimson Glory”  (1986)

Djam Karet  (USA)  -  Reflections From The Firepool   (1989)

 Eskaton  (F)  -  4 Visions   (1979, 1981)

Fates Warning  (USA)  -  The Spectre Within  (1985)

The “Gunesh” Ensemble (USSR)  -  Gunesh   (1980)

Halloween  (F)  -  Part One  (1988)

Iconoclasta  (Mex)   -  Reminiscencias   (1985)

Los Jaivas (Chile)  -  Alturas de Machu Pichu   (1981)

Marillion  (UK)  -  Script For A Jester’s Tear   (1983)

P.L.J. Band  (Gre)  -  Armageddon   (1982)

Solaris  (HUN)  -  Marsbeli Kronikak   (1984)

Some additional:

Collegium Musicum  (TCH)  -  Divergences   (1983)

Agamemnon  (CH)  -  Agamemnon, Part I&II   (1981)

Pendragon  (UK)   -  The Jewel   (1985)

And I hope, you'll enjoy it, and all the best to all of you, guys! Tongue

Well, that certainly doesn't bother me, Paul, because as you know I praise "quality above quantity". Smile

I'm a bit suprised, though, why you just didn't edit your original post. Ermm

Mainly because it didn't occur to me to remove the Live and 4-star albums at the time of my original post. Embarrassed

I must confess that in the 80's, I was very far away from any Prog. I certainly did worship music, but that was allmost only mainstream Rock, and even some of Pop-Rock. I heard a bit of Marillion, but it at least didn't tell me enough. I bought Powerslave (1984) and listened to that album a number of times, but it didn't bring me to more Metal, and thus neither to the beginning Prog Metal in the second half of the 80's.

So the 80's were a long break for me from the realm of Progressive Rock, and actually I first began get into the 80's Prog about 20 years ago. Today, I certainly find some of it interesting and good, even in general not as good as what I'm most fond of from the 70's. Smile
