Hi guys! I spent the last few weeks working on a mini-documentary about Almendra. Does anyone here listen to them or Spinetta's following bands?

It is the first band by rock legend Luis Alberto Spinetta. Their 1969 album is still regarded as one of the greatest achievements in Rock music from Argentina. I already have videos on the other father of Argentine prog, Charly Garcia.

If you haven't experienced these excellent prog bands from Argentina, I highly recommend looking into it! My YouTube channel is all about recommending classic prog bands that are lesser-known through telling the story of their discography and connections with other bands. If you are interested, I'd really appreciate it if you followed my channel! I guarantee you'll learn a lot!

Music is my gospel and I preach with my picking hand. -Harry Chapin. Not prog but still cool. Haha

I make mini-docs on lesser-known classic prog acts.

Muchisimas gracias por verlo, Progmind!

I've listened to Bubu and Crucis many times and will eventually do documentaries on them for sure!! I wish Bubu had more albums. I know they have one more recently though. So they have 2.

I like the Spinetta bands and discography from what I've heard and will further explore - thanks for the doc! It's great to see a young person like you, Sean advocating for this musical legacy mostly completely unknown in the US. For me, MIA Cornonstipicum (1978) is one of the finest Argentine prog albums from the 70's era.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi Blood! here's a listener of Luis Alberto Spinetta (i'm argentinian so it's easy to know him here...).

I love his work but i specially enjoy his work in "Invisible" (the last album is excellent).

If you love his music you should check the band "La maquina de hacer pájaros". It's a great group of Charly Garcia... one of the finest musician here in Argentina.

Thanks for the suggestions Ian I will explore. Looks like they're all in the RIO/Avant vein and all new to me. Cheers.
