Nightwish, they’re really starting to fire from this point on as far as I’m concerned. There’s some decent stuff on WT’s Hydra, and the Avantasia album is very good too.

Lots I don’t know as well…

Lots I don’t know as well…

At the time of posting this poll, Dark Passion Play was the only album I knew, so Nightwish will probably get my vote too with Within Temptation also being a strong contender. I'll get back to you when I've listened to all nineteen albums in the poll. Smile

I just thought I'd have a look at the aggregate ratings for a few of these albums on MS from over 1,000 fans of Symph Metal:

Kamelot: 8.8
Epica: 8.3
Xandria: 8.1
Nightwish: 7.8
Within Temptation: 7.2

Just saying... Ermm

It comes as no surprise to me that two of my lowest rated albums in this poll are two of the highest rated albums on Metal Archives. In all six of these polls so far, it always comes down to a simple choice for me between Nightwish and Within Temptation, seeing as they're the only two Symphonic Metal bands I knew before joining Prog Archives. Embarrassed
