I'm allowed to vote weirdly when I'm gassy and cantankerous, am I not?
Anyways, the title track of that album... ...was a big influence on a weird instrumental I made about six years ago... Obviously Jeff Lynne and I took different directions from the underlying Morse code we based our songs on. When I'm not so gassy, I'd probably have picked Marillion or IQ or Bacamarte.

For some reason Peter Hammill's Patience isn't that popular, but I think it's his best album. (Paul giving it 2 stars already gives away that this must be pretty good! ) I'd rank Art Zoyd, Mike Oldfield, and Eskaton 2, 3, and 4.

Following the theory that a low rating from me means it must be a pretty good album, what do you think to this 1-star album by French band Etron Fou Leloublan? 1983: Etron Fou Leloublan - Les Sillons de la Terre - http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLAu9Xcjb6HogwEWo-Cn47aCAAOI5YX1F By the way, it's only the seventh time I've given a dismal 1-star rating to an album, when the six previous occasions were for the debut albums by Robert Wyatt, Therion, Current 93 and the first three albums by the Swans.

IQ, easily. Script is a very good debut, but it isn't a masterpiece.

I love IQ's album even though it sounds like it was recorded in an attic! Not much competition for me as I'm not a big fan of Script or the Yes 'reset' album. More tracks like Cinema would have been nice but it's all too clean for my liking.
