A pleasing win for Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe, although admittedly, I'm surprised to see one of my 4-star albums winning a poll for once.

Anyway, Wikipedia looses a bit of its credibility in this case, and in fact, the same problem occurs on Wikipedia's "List of progressive rock artists".

If they had made more albums like Sowing... and Raoul..., they could MAYBE qualify for prog related. Probably not crossover.

I don't think this is the way to do it. I don't think there's anyone who would change that for you, in Wikipedia people have to do it themselves. Although probably raising this on the article's discussion/talk page would be a start (if you don't establish it there, chances are it won't survive the night, although this may well also happen if you give proper reasons first - I had set the devil smiley because changing Wikipedia isn't as easy as people think who have never tried to do it).

Actually, I've thought about writing to them about the general problem of putting bands on their timeline even they're not considered to be Prog in their articles about those bands. |

Well, you could try to change this on Wikipedia. That's the idea of that site, isn't it? Have fun with that!

That sounds about right. I'd list Tears for Fears primarily as Pop/Rock too, but I've never heard of a sub-genre called "Big Music" before, although I suppose Big Music could apply if you've got something to Shout about... |

Tears for Fears are listed as Art Pop on RateYourMusic, in just the same way as Kate Bush and Tori Amos are Art Pop, so from that perspective, maybe Tears for Fears could be considered for inclusion here at PA under Crossover Prog.

....as Tears for Fears in no way are considered to be Progressive Rock in Wikipedia's article about the band.

Simply because Tears for Fears are listed on Wikipedia's Timeline of Progressive Rock, which I've been using as a reference for this series of polls.

In my opinion far from a good year in prog but if I had to say, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe.
I also have to ask why Tears for Fears - The Seeds of Love is on the list?

I can only disagree strongly and counter that The Real Thing was FNM’s masterwork by some distance!!🤘😊 But I do agree that both bands were unique, and definitely deserved better…. |

If an explanation needed, my first search only concerned "Progressive Rock" which on RYM doesn't include any Metal - sorry. |

FNM probably don't have much pull with this crowd. The Real Thing isn't on par with Gretchen, either. FNM's next album, Angel Dust, became their masterwork. Both KX and FNM have devoted followings but never hit the big time because they'e just too "out there" for the mainstream.
