(Alan Reed: Darkness Has Spoken, from the album First In a Field of One)

Those who keep track of the band Pallas know that a new album is coming up with the return of Alan Reed on vocals. I'm very much looking forward to this and impatient. So, in order to patient and spend some good time, a Pallas poll, with five epic Pallas tracks, featuring Alan Reed. Listen, if you don't know them already, and vote for your favourite (and also listen to Alan's wonderful two solo albums!). It may be a bit overwhelmingly epic Pallas, but well... that's what you like, no?

Sanctuary (from the Knightmoves EP):

Ratracing (from The Wedge):

Fragments of the Sun (from Beat the Drum):

The Cross & The Crucible (from The Cross & The Crucible):

The Bringer of Dreams (from The Dreams of Men):

Voted for Ratracing, with Sanctuary not far behind.

My favorite Pallas track with Alan is Just a Memory.

The Bringer of Dreams from the list, but my all time favourites are Ghostdancers, The Last Angel and Crown of Thorns.

Fragments Of The Sun by some margin, just as BtD is their best album by some margin imho...
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

^ Beat the Drum was a great return to action from the band. I was very happy to see them live again, after the last concert I attended to in 1988... I think my preferred album remains The Wedge, especially with tracks from Knightmoves added, not in the least because Alan Reed was magnificent on this album. I also like it's sharper edges and the more song oriented aspect of it. I do like the other albums also very much, but always thought that, especially, The Cross... and The Dreams of Man became a bit overpolished in their compositions and arrangements and losing some of the spontaneity that characterised the other albums... But there are many great songs to be found on all of their albums.

I owned both Sentinel and Wedge on LP back in the 80's as a teen, but feel that the latter in particular was a product of it's time in a similar way to Nomzamo... some good stuff on it, but too commercial. My favourite track by Pallas remains 'Insomniac'.. I never got into either Cross or Dreams and ebayed them... I haven't bothered with the band since, but then I also listen to less Neo these days than I did up until the mid noughties..
