For this poll, I have chosen one track included in PA's database for every five year period from 1965 until 2023. So, I chose one from 1969 for 1965 to 1969, one from 1973 for 1970 to 1974, one from 1975 for 1975 to 1979, one from 1981 for 1980 to 1984 etc.
Please vote for up to three of these and feel free to vote despite limited familiarity. As is common with me, I made a youtube playlist with all of the tracks. The Soft Machine "Hibou, Anemone and Bear" (Volume Two, 1969) Spirogyra "The Furthest Point" (Bells, Boots and Shambles, 1973) Hawkwind "Spiral Galaxy 24968" (Warrior on the Edge of Time, 1975) This Heat "Cenotaph" (Deceit, 1981) Camberwell Now "Working Nights" (The Ghost Trade, 1986) Swans "Love Will Save You" (White Light From the Mouth of Infinity, 1991) Mr. Bungle "Pink Cigarette" (California, 1999) Radiohead "Pyramid Song" (Amnesiac, 2001) William D. Drake's "Seahorse" (Briny Hooves, 2007)* North Sea Radio Orchestra "Morpheus Miracle Maker" (I a Moon, 2011) Susanne Sundfor "Silencer" (Ten Love Songs, 2015) Black Country, New Road - "Opus" (For the First Time, 2021) I missed adding William D. Drake to the list. He should have been there as my 2005 to 2009 selection. Please write-in vote for it (mention it in a post) if you like it. Thanks. Edited by Logan - December 06 2023 at 14:10 |

^ Thanks.
Tough for me to go with just three (or more) not surprisingly, but right at this moment for a top five I will choose Spirogyra "The Furthest Point", Swans "Love Will Save You", Mr. Bungle "Pink Cigarette", Radiohead "Pyramid Song" and Susanne Sundfor "Silencer". Will go with "Pink Cigarette", "The Furthest Point", "Silencer" and "Pyramid Song" today from this 11 tracks du jour list. ![]() Oops, I was rushing to go to get this in before dropping something off at my son's school and chose four. ![]() Edited by Logan - December 06 2023 at 13:05 |

I made mistake, i forgot to include the 2005 to 2009 period selection. So I am including William D. Drake's "Seahorse" (Briny Hooves, 2007), which even if I can't add to the poll proper. I can add to the list and playlist. One can write in vote for that. And I am doing a companion poll for this for ones not in PA.

Hawkwind, This Heat, and William D. Drake. I'm old enough to remember saber-toothed rocking chairs.

Camberwell Now, Radiohead, North Sea Radio Orchestra
(William D. Drake is a strong candidate, but as I happily found three options to vote for in the written poll, tough luck for him.) Edited by Lewian - December 06 2023 at 15:15 |

Top three could easily change at any time, but for right now, Swans, Radiohead, and Black Country, New Road got my votes.

It's hard to choose three when the only song I don't connect with (and band, really) is the last one in the poll. Love the rest really. Let's see got to choose Hibou, Pyramid Song and...

Listened to the playlist to refresh my memory regarding a couple of tracks and it is a surprisingly homogeneous playlist - a pleasant listen. Many tracks that I like, so my choice is a bit arbitrary, but I'll vote for Hawkwind, North Sea Radio Orchestra and Black Country, New Road. On another day it could be The Soft Machine, This Heat and Radiohead...

Voted Soft Machine and Spirogyra.
I'll be damned if David Tibet (of Current 93) hasn't listened to Spirogyra very carefully.

These are all "special" favorites: The Soft Machine "Hibou, Anemone and Bear" (Volume Two, 1969) Spirogyra "The Furthest Point" (Bells, Boots and Shambles, 1973)Hawkwind "Spiral Galaxy 24968" (Warrior on the Edge of Time, 1975) This Heat "Cenotaph" (Deceit, 1981) Swans "Love Will Save You" (White Light From the Mouth of Infinity, 1991) Radiohead "Pyramid Song" (Amnesiac, 2001) Maybe Softs, Swans and Radiohead just a little bit more than the rest. Not sure. Susanne Sundfor "Silencer" (Ten Love Songs, 2015)
