While I like a number of these very much, for the runners-up, black midi's Cavalcade stands out for me.

I wasn't nearly as impressed with that PFM as others were at the time (that was the first year I voted in these).

Far Corner > black midi

Another really good list.  As a huge IZZ fan, Don't Panic got my vote, but five or six others would have been more than worthy.

Gotta go with Izz. One of their best.

I don't think I listened to that PFM album. I will try and listen to it soon.

Far Corner > Izz > IQ. Let's be social media stars inside the hamper!

Given that The Road of Bones and The Mountain are the only albums in either the winners or runner up list that I would rate above 3*, and that they're the only albums I've voted for that has made either category, it's not a hard choice to get down to the final 2.
