The two double albums by IQ. I think these are their only ones.

Just curious what you think of the lamb lies down on broadway. Did that bore you too? To me it's kind of like a modern version of Lamb.

Subterranea... saw the live show at Bury Met back in 1998; really stunning. I like Resistance, but it sags a bit in places.
I wonder what reaction you'd have got if you'd included the Road Of Bones SE 2CD set? Some interesting stuff on there...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

The Lamb is my favorite Genesis album, maybe Subterranea needs another listen, but the first time i heard it I nearly turned it off. It all sounded too similar. I'll give in another listen this week.

I agree that Road of Bones could potentially be included, and would garner a lot of votes, but it isn’t really a double album….. Subterranea gets my vote, Resistance is STILL a real letdown! |

Resistance...please add a vote for me. Because of a site glitch, I can't vote.

Yeah, I didn't even think of adding it even though I have the two cd version myself.

It's now accepted that Road Of Bones is a double album. The second CD was originally a special 'bonus' edition but fans jumped all over that and didn't bother with the single CD version. Does anyone even own the single CD version?
I voted Resistance. Subterranea is probably Nicholls at his whiniest (before the sublime Seventh House showed him at his most mature). I saw them play the whole thing live in London back in the day but a barely rehearsed encore of The Last Human Gateway was the most memorable thing about the show.

That probably says more about your mind than the album, I suspect.

Subterranea is their best album and Resistance one of their worst (though they've never made a bad album). I try listening to it, but the feeling always is "I could be listening to Dark Matter, or Ever or The Wake.....", and i take it off and put something else by them on. It just doesn't really do it for me. Mind you, if it had been by a lot of other bands, I might rate it higher, but IQ have set the bar extremely high and I judge them harshly.

I actually slightly prefer the second CD on The Road of Bones, though they're both pretty brilliant.

I added your vote for Resistance, which is the album I would've voted for too.

As much as I've tried, I have never being able to get into IQ's music. I know they are a good band and they're good musicians, for for some inexplicable reason, I've never have gotten into their ride.
