Sorry (that's a Canadian thing) to be "that guy" who does not go for or specifically mention any on the list, but I cannot choose any albums in the poll.  Regardless of how Prog these albums are (trying to find those boundaries betwixt Prog and Non-Prog tends to be futile), here are some faves of mine from 2011.

From what is in PA:

North Sea Radio Orchestra - I a Moon
William D. Drake - The Rising of the Lights
Chelsea Wolfe - Apokalypsis
Kate Bush - 50 Words for Snow

Not in PA:
PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
Weyes Blood - The Outside Room
The Necks - Mindset

Steven Wilson > DT > VDGG
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

The Tangent > VDGG. The more I talk, the more I smell like nouns.

I don't think any of my favourites were on this list - that would probably go to Devin Townsend Projects Deconstruction in this year. But from this list, I guess Steven Wilson or Dear Hunter. My vote went to Steven Wilson. In retrospect, Dear Hunter should have got it.

Just realized I don't even own that Neal Morse album.

So Wilson easily from the list but I got a dozen that I would put over the rest that are on this list. A good year!
