I'm wondering why you even considered putting Roger in this poll. If you like him enough to compare him to Squire then I guess it's good you can see some good in his playing, there are very few of us that can. Mabey Squire vs. Lee or something a little more chiche`. Edited by Rust |

No chance for Waters... if it was another bassist the competition should be tighter.

Waters is a more creative song Writer, go Waters!
But Squire just simply owns him in bass playing. |

Before listening to Chris Squire's work on Yes, I didn't know that such technical skill can be displayed on bass (although I am fairly new to progressive rock.)
Squire, no question. |

Strictly as a bass player, Chris Squire walks all over Mr. Waters. Now, if you bring songwriting into the formula, I'd give the nod to Mr. Waters. |

Bit unfair, Roger Waters started off playing lead/rhythm guitar. Geddy Lee is my man. |

Technically there is no comparison at all - Squire wins hands down. Waters is an average bass player, well suited to PF's sound but no virtuoso - however, he's one of the best-ever lyricists and songwriters.
