Yep, that's true. Those of you who are interested in this band, download the EP HDRSF-01 from their website, and if you like what you hear, buy the new live album Live Eleven a.m. Their best release so far IMO. These guys are truly amazing live.

Not a clone of Ozric Tentacles, but not as good either

I am constantly listening to them in the past month (all their releases). Balansia is great. Just got their Live Eleven a.m. and I see there is a 32 min. Astroban. wow...

I saw them on stage as a warm up act of HAWKWIND last summer. Well, they are not as big band as hawkies, but their live set worked better... Haven't listened much HIDRIA SPACEFOLK's albums though, but they are on my worklist!

I've downloaded the EP and the live material from their website and created a wonderful CD out of it.
You can hear the Ozric Tentacles link but I think their sound has some differences. There is not so much electric guitar in the foreground and the flute playing sounds more like Jethro Tull than Ozric Tentacles IMO.
Anyway, great stuff and there are 10 MP3s on their website so ... what are you all waiting for? Give it a try.

Taipuva Luotisuora are similar and pretty good too - also lots of downloads on their site, if you can manage to type thier name into a search engine correctly!

I recently checked Hidria Spacefolk out. About four days later I noticed a band on this site very similar to Hidria but with less techno-sounding beats, they call themselves "First Band From Outer Space". For some reason I like the Space guys much... much more. They sound like Hawkwind all over the place and just put their debut out in 2005, from Sweden.
Hidria Spacefolk does some good stuff as well, both worth checking out I say.

I've downloaded that EP from their site as well, and I'm definitely
intrigued enough to hear more. They remind me somewhat of a more
organic version of Children of the Bong (anyone here ever heard of
them?)
