There are two bands that I have been listening to lately. One is Finland's prime Mover.Their new CD is called "Drivkraft."  When I listen, I hear elements of Hatfield and the North, Wigwam, Gong, and a touch of early Zappa. What makes it even more interesting is that they add flute and trumpet. To top it off, all the songs are sung in Swedish(4% of Finland speaks that language). They recorded their earlier albums in English, but received little if any response. Their latest CD is getting a lot of airplay.

 

Magus is a US band that appeals to both Yes and Porcupine Tree fans. Their last CD, "The Garden" the best as far as I'm concerned. One of the players in the lineup is Gary Strater, formerly of Starcastle(sadly, Gary passed away last year.)
