When Welsh proto-prog band BLONDE ON BLONDE split up in 1970, the name was changed in AQUILA and that same year RCA released their self-titled debut album. Musically the group played a progressive rock with tinges of jazz and R&B.

Side One:

  1. Change Your Ways
  2. How Many More Times
  3. While You Were Sleeping
  4. We Can Make It If We Try

Side Two:

The Aquila Suite:

     5.  First Movement: Aquila (Introduction). Flight Of The Golden Bird

     6.  Second Movement: Cloud Circle. The Hunter. The Kill

     7. Third Movement: Where Do I Belong. Aquila (Conclusion).

Line-up:

  • Ralph Denyer - vocals, electric & acoustic guitars
  • Phil Childs - Fender bass & piano
  • George Lee - flute, alto, soprano, tenor & baritone saxes
  • Martin Woodward - Hammond organ
  • James Smith - drums, tympany & various percussion

Produced by Patrick Campbell-Lyons.

The album was released in 1994 on the German label TRC as TRC046.
