Oh no, you're wrong. There's always Caravan vs DT, Soft Machine vs DT, The Strawbs vs DT, and I don't know how many more unexplored possibilities.... |

DT for the better albums, although the best song is by Queensryche (Silent lucidity).

Queensryche is too prog for you, apparently... when Queensryche released "Rage For Order", a manifest of progressed music, Petrucci was learning why an electric guitar needs electricity... |

I wonder how this thread escaped the attention of the professional team of DT thread wreckers... I see we will have to do some extra work later on! |

DT hands down. Queensryche is not nearly as proggy as some would have you believe... |

I've got Rage..., and its not that prog to me. And, to be pedantic, JP and the others were already in Majesty writing up songs like The Killing Hand. To answer the question, DT by a country mile. |

Is it necessary to choose a band limiting your thoughts (and feelings) to whether it's prog or not prog enough ?
Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime is the ultimate music beast and I wonder whether these fellows from Berklee could write their Metropolis pt.2 if it didn't exist first place. |

For musicianship, Dream Theater (except for the vocals)
For Originality, Queensryche (See the influence on the DVD´s Scenes from NY and Operation Livecrime, right down to the big flashback scene at the end)
