Just gave these guys a listen... Why did nobody tell me about this band before???? S.U.S.A.R is an amazing record! Spacey prog metal with a violin. At times sounds a bit like Tool, at others it sounds a bit like a more metal-ish Ozric Tentacles, with tons of other spacey weird influences as well. 3 thumbs up!

Indeed a great record. Had I but known you were deprived from the knowledge of this album, I would have made it my immediate mission to bring it to your knowledge, believe me.
Anyway, a unique album in which I hear some King Crimson influence mixed with metal and the violin adds an insane like edge to it. Doda's vocals are excellent, as usual.

I recommended them several times last year ... one of my favorite 2005 releases. I even prefer it to Second Life Syndrome.

Now this little spelling mistake absolutely made my day!!!
Mariusz Duda is the singer of polish prog rock band Riverside.
Dorota "Doda" Rabczewska is the singer of polish pop-rock band Virgin.
And her vocals aren't all that excellent

Duda collaborated with Indukti during the recording of SUSAR. He was a guest vocalist, but not a band member.

GS, I've been recommending this band to a lot of people, so I'm not sure how you missed my posts in the VR! I know at least 3 people who want this album after I mentioned it too them.
I prefer them to Tool, but that's not hard! Great album indeed. The newer copies have an extra track too (which I've yet to hear), so look out for that!

Well I do and I love Indukti too.
What's the bonus track like by the way, Mike?
I also hope they release something new very soon.

I heard similarities with Tool at times and I became very interested in them, but I kind of never realy looked again. Plus, nobody told me they had spacey elements in their music. Man. That prog metal discussion really woke up the sleepy headbanger inside.

I wouldn't really say they're better than Tool on the whole, that band's always got a special spot with me...I suppose a large extent due to the lyrical content.
That being said this album is f**king ace, I barely listen to any metal anymore and yet this really appealed to me. Great recommendation
