What did Robert Fripp's father do for a living? He mentions it every now and again for some reason.

Hmmm, I have no idea, so I'll have to guess: An accountant? A travelling used-comb salesman?
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

If he were a very strict Victorian era Baptist Minister, it would explain a lot!

OK Vibe, we give up. What did little bespectacled Bobby Fripp's dad do for a living? I've got to know!

Whoops!I almost forgot I posted this. I got this little tidbit from Fripp's diary and the liner notes from Absent Lovers (recorded live here in Montreal a show which I attended) Bob's Dad was a coal miner. It's funny though, you WOULD expect him to have been a minister or accountant or some thing to do with academics.

How long was he a coal-miner? Asked because Fripp's home town on the English south coast is at least 60 miles from a coal mine , assumed still opened in the 40's and 50's. During WW2 young strong health men could be conscripted into the mines to "keep the home fires burning" - '39 to '45.

Here in Canada, we try to keep the home fries from burning, and serve 'em up with lots of baloney, and two eggs, over easy....Wink
