so is there any chance of this actually being added?
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

I suggested them to the RIO/Avant-prog team a while ago, but I'm not sure is it complex and avant-garde enough for them. They're widely categorized as math-rock -- a genre that is somewhere between post-rock and avant-prog IMO. They could be a worthy addition to the archives though, regardless of the sub-genre.

I was looking around You Tube for videos of Godspeed you! black emporer, and came across this band. They're a really great instrumental prog band. I'm not sure exactly what sub genre they would fall into. They have a very heavy/metal sound, but they use a lot of repititon and extended ideas that would put them in a similar vein to Tortoise's post-rock.
 
Check them out and see what you think.
