Topic: Neal Morse and Lucifer's Friend Posted: November 05 2006 at 09:40 |
I've noticed interesting connection today.. The instrumental part from
Temple of the living God is rip-off from the short passage of Lucifer's Friend song
Summerdream (Where the Groupies killed the Blues, 1971). More I listen to Neal Morse, more I think he is running out of ideas... what do you think about it?

Haven't heard the song you refer to, but I see Neal Morse's music like this: Business as usual...but what a mighty business it is!

What would Neil Young do?

Morse does succeed in doing the same thing, but keeping it interesting. Maybe he will play some form of melodic miracle in the future...

Neal Morse copying material from Lucifer's Friend?
Isn't this a bit contradictory with his beliefs?

Iván | If it's true, what a great bit of irony.

He could've copied it without knowing that someone had done it already. That happens all the time.

I find it offensive that musicians make money off the name of Jesus. Anything labeled "Christian" is a marketing mechanism. Personally, I find it hypocritical.

I actually think that Morse would make more money if he didn't write Christian music. I really appreciate him for having the guts to do that.

I just have noticed a surge in Christian everything these days, especially related to money. I know I have a chip on my shoulder about it. It goes against what I was taught years back. Jesus didn't preach to get wealthy and his message wasn't about exploiting something for personal gain.
OK...enough of that. I'll drop it.
