I'm going to take that you've never heard UP. Or passion. Since you said after
PG IV it was poppy crap. And So and US are not poppy crap. Maybe pop but
not crap.

My favorite is UP. I think it's incredible especially after all these years. I love
all of his albums though (even II though many people say it was a dud.
"Mother of Violence" is one of my favorite songs among many others on the
album.)

I'm going for SO.  I thought it was very accessible, melodic, and inventive.  How many artists of the decade were combining modern (80's) pop with African and quasi-Far Eastern rhythms?

I voted for 1 because PG used the wonderful guitarists Steve Hunter & Dick Wagner on that album. However I own and love all of them.SH & DW some of the best rock guitarists I ever heard.Alice Cooper used them on Welcome to my Nightmare and Lou Reed used them on Rock'n'Roll Animal. The solo on Dolce Vita gets me every time.

Oh Yeah, "UP". It seems that he has taken to wearing a leather glove on one hand. And yes I have been listening (and praying). Post-mortems take place...and what can one do! All I want is a resurrection...and I don't think age is an excuse. Does Gabriel think that banaliity can pass for inspiration. He didn't used to think "so". But now it seems to pay the bills. And I've been waiting since 1980...

I felt compelled to vote for the black sheep of the catalogue:
"White Shadow" is my favorite PG song, and I just love the garage-y, grungy sound of this one overall, especially Animal Magic, Perspective, DIY and Exposure.  Mother of Violence and Indigo are really beautiful songs too.  It's also his best album cover, IMO.

Of course, they are all great, but II/Scratch has a special place for me.
