Has all the information that's been put up on Progarchives been validated and made correct or was it all just put on here by fan-based opinions?

Most everything is opinion and shouldn't be trusted automatically. I always do independent research and studies to see if what is presenting matches up with what I study and hear.

what informations are we actually talking about?

if you mean infos on albums and bands, I think we wanna be pretty accurate. we have a policy of full discographies being, of main infos being linked from mostly known and accepted "places", we have two team of editors working on what's lacking or what's eronious in our data...

I wouldn't say it's all "fan-based"/or sheer opinion...

As Ricochet says, the biographical and album information shoudl always be accurate. We have an errors and omissions section in the forum though, to allow for corrections.

Reviews and forum posts are by their very nature a mixture of opinion and fact.

I'm talking about not only the band discography and biography information but also the information on all of the sub-genres as well as the Prog Rock article itself. I'm asking because I want to possibly use this site as a cited source and I'm just making sure it is a reliable accurate site.

The articles on the sub-genres and Prog Rock itself have to be a mixture of fact and interpretation. When you bear in mind that we can't even agree on what prog is, and which bands are prog(!), there has to be room for debate.

Any information given though has been researched and validated.

What is rock? What is Jazz? What is Pop?

You really can't pinpoint anyone of these to a "correct" thought. There will always be room for interpretation. It's just moreso in Prog than any other. <<<---- Notice that that's an opinion too. See! Everything is an opinion.

This is why I hate the fact you must cite sources for everything(in school), when its all mostly opinion to begin with.
back from the dead, i will begin posting reviews again and musing through the forums
