Venezuela is being victim of the weather: severe rains are falling since monday, and there are floods all over. Various towns and cities are isolated, and the roads are useless now...
Please forgive me for my crappy english!

I'm presently in Caracas, wich is the country major city. Here the situation is not dangerous, although tuesday the river that cross the city came out of it course. But in the coast area, which was severe damaged in 1999, the situation is very critic. Fortunately for now there aren't many fatal victims, but thousands have lost his houses.

We have had the same problems this year in Southern California.  THere are still hills sliding due to the heavy rains we had in January and homes collapsing.  The highway to my home is only open 5 hours a day (3 in the morning and two at night) and then only by escort until the end of March.  I really sympathize with you Micro.

Honestly, I canīt tell you because I donīt do drugs, at least not the "illegal". I do know that certain people grow their own grass, and the native venezuelands or "indios" use certain drugs for spiritual rites. Yopo is one of them, I think it has allucinant effects.

The weather's going haywire everywhere. Ten years ago the worst natural disasters Poland could expect were our politicians. Since then we've had about five serious floods and almost every month there is a storm that wrecks some villages, tears telephone wires off posts and kills a few kids who just happened to play near trees.

I live in a block of flats on elevated terrain in a basically unfloodable region, and therefore am relatively safe. I know the worst only from TV, so I don't know it at all. Best wishes of safety and peace of mind to you, your family, friends and everyone affected by the freaking weather, Mirco. And I hope Venezuela is able to install a proper, humane government soon, Polish politicians range from the incompetent to the downright bad, but this Chavez character is f***ing insane, just like that nut Lukashenko in Byelorussia, one of Poland's eastern neighbours.

HASN'T THE WEATHER BEEN STRANGE LATELY!?...SO ITS NOT JUST MY IMAGINATION

HERE IN AUSTRALIA WE ARE GOING THROUGH AN UNUSUALLY ODD SUMMER,WHILE HERE IN MY HOME TOWN ADELAIDE WE HAVE HAD A FEW  DAYS OVER THE 37.8 C(100 DEG FARENHEIT MARK) AND A BUSH FIRE THAT KILLED NINE PEOPLE , BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT HAS BEEN UNUSUALLY COOL TO COLD WITH LOTS OF RAIN......

MELBOURNE HAD ITS WETTEST DAY IN 150 YEARS, 125MM OF RAIN FELL IN 24 HOURS WITH MASSIVE FLOOD DAMAGE,ALL DOWN THE EASTERN SEABOARD FROM BRISBANE TO ADELAIDE WE HAVE HAD TORRENTIAL RAIN, HAILSTONES THE SIZE OF GOLFBALLS AND ALMIGHTY THUNDERSTORMS....

WINDS OVER 120 KPH WRECKED HOUSES IN BRISBANE.

AND THERE HAVE BEEN RECORD SNOWFALLS IN NEW SOUTH WALES, VICTORIA AND TASMANIA!!!

THE OTHER DAY I HAD TO SCRAPE ICE OF MY CARS WINDSHEILD, THAT JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN IN ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA IN THE HEIGHT OF SUMMER.

IS SOMETHING UNUSUAL HAPPENING TO WORLD WEATHER PATTERNS? OR IS IT JUST BECAUSE WITH NEAR INSTANTANEOUS COMMUNICATIONS WE CAN GET A MORE COMPLETE LOOK AT THE WORLD IN ONE HIT THAN WE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BEFORE?.

VERY UNUSUAL!!!
