Since there are so many Porcupine Tree fans on here, I was wondering if any of you are familliar with Steven Wilson's other, poppier band, No-Man.  It's a two-piece band, on which he plays all the instruments and Tim Bowness provides the vocals and lyrics. It actually started out as his serious musical project while PT was more or less just him screwing around in studio.  Their 2003 album Together We're Stranger is incredible, and is sadly doomed to go unnoticed by the prog listening public.  It combines the band's usual art-pop style with the kind of ambient music that Wilson makes with Bass Communion (another project of his), resulting in something really unique, as well as one of the most beautiful albums you'll ever hear.

So is anyone else into them?

I've listened to the downloads he's had on the No-Man site recently. I've also listened to Steve Wilson's other project: Blackfield, which is more in tune with Porcupine Tree I think.  You have to admit that Steve Wilson is one hard working guy....

Tim Bowness's recent album (released October/November 2004? on Burning Shed Records) The Hotel Year  is rather good ('post prog', to invent a genre............................). It is worth checking Burning Shed's website/catalogue for other Steve Wilson and Bowness goodies.
