an ablum from all his music period.!!! that is the beauty of prog fans we all love everything he ever did ( Well I do) from be-bop to his almost hard/metal stuff he did!! F#&*K all the Jazz purist!!!

As promised, I got myself a Joe Henderson album w/Chick Corea, Ron Carter and one Billy Higgins on drums. Another one of those non-fusion jazz albums

great vanguard album, not that much jazz though but Egberto was a great figure in the jazz scene as well
 
And yes, Vytas Brenner did make a somewhat fusiony album himself

Jazz/Fusion is something I dip into from time to time and for that I am not even slightly knowledgable on the subject.

John Abercrombie's TImeless and Mahavishnu Orchestra's Lost Trident sessions are indespensible (I love the tension on that album).
 
I once heard an album by Philip Catherine called Guitars, but I have never been able to find it since, so perhaps I dreamt its existance.
 
(As you can probably tell, it has to be guitar led for me to buy it)

right now i enjoy in the music of  Back Door, listening to their 'ACTIVATE'  album produced by Carl Palmer in 1976....Colin Hodgkinson really rocks on that  bass!

Great to discover somebody who has a Back Door album other than the more obvious Back Door ,8th Street Nites and Another Fine Mess. I presume your copy of Activate is on vinyl - Warners being desperately slow in issuing CD versions of their albums?

yes, thats vinyl copy, same as my other two Back Door's LPs you mentioned above - first (s/t) album and ' 8th Street Nites' withTony Hiks on drums. i really dont know that Warner Bros were re-issued 'Activate' album as CD version...Confused...should be, anyway....!

Uuuuh, Higgins on drums... is this album outstanding or only brilliant?

I'm thinking of buying John Surman's "Conflagration" - what I've heard from it blew me away!!! Ditto for the infamous "Song X" by Pat Metheny and Ornette Coleman.
