I have been trying to clarify the real name of Gravy Train singer / guitarist.
In my Vertigo cds he appears as Norman Barrett... in many others sources he appears as Norman Barratt, singer / guitarist of Barratt Band.
In http://www.davalmusic.co.uk which seems to be Gravy Train representative, appears as Norman Barratt, also in his christian label.
Does anybody know if this Barrett naming is an error of Vertigo label?
greets

Good post, great band. I almost think Norman Barrett deliberately changed his name to Barratt when he took a new direction, just a hunch as I have wondered about this also.

I do get in contact with Mr. Noman Barratt who confirmed me by e-mail that was a misspelling of the recording company. His surname is Barratt no Barrett.
He can be found in the page of the company he owns
Daval Music Limited (DML) devoted to Christian music
http://www.davalmusic.co.uk/
In fact he change after Gravy Train to new ways becoming one of the first succesfull Christian musicians in UK, specially with his Barratt Band and the progressive album

Coincidentally, I've just been reviewing a couple of GT albums.

Interesting to see there are songs that would have perhaps made a fifth album on that release Bob. If you go to the davalmusic website you will see also that Norman Barratt, JD Hughes, Vic Smith and co are going make a brand new studio album after 34 years. Let's hope they get it together.

Thanks Milky

Please wish him well from all @ Prog archives and hope he is up on his feet soon! Ask Norman if he would like to do an interview sometime?

All the very best
