How can start reviewing this show last night? I guess by saying that I almost didn’t make it.
I have been lately financially unstable.
I have been so short on cash. So, I said to myself “man you haven’t seen the mahavishnu project live and you know good these guys are and of course last Allan played at B.B. King you didn’t see him. You got to go” so that was convincing enough”, I squeeze my dollars and I made a sacrifice I headed to B.B.king at 7:00 pm Ha!

I have the 2 Mahavishnu Project’s cds. The first time I heard them I was very impressed by this non- dried tribute band.
As much excited I was to see Allan’s band the same I was to see MO project. They concentrated performing songs from Visions of the Emerald Beyond and Birds of Fire. Did they do a good job playing this complicated music?
More than good! breath taking! Quite amazing how great these guys were. I can’t hardly speak from all the shouting that I did after each song. I wouldn’t say that they MO’s music better that MO themselves, but one thing for sure they refined it. They reborn it. These guys surely know how to rock!
If they happen to play in your home town don’t hesitate you must GO!

They played from 8:10 to 9:40 pm an hour and half.

After that I was a little skeptical about Allan’s band. Why? I guess because he pushing to his 60’s birthday this august and I didn’t think he would play with the same energy as Glen from the MO project BUT!!. Whoa!! Whoa, again Whoa! Wasn’t I wrong or what! I was blowed way.
Allan sounded so refresh and powerfull. Incredible how can somebody plays an instrument so wonderfully amazing.
Defiantly I would say that he is in better shape than the last time I saw him, few years back.
He hasn’t slow down (and the volume keeps going up!) not even a bit. His solos were juice, organic, refreshing precise, loud what else can I call it? This virtuoso doesn’t let his fans down. What can I say about Chad performing? If it was hard of me to describe Allan playing Chad is even harder. He wasn’t an exception. His drums solos were mind blowing too! He hitted those skins not with love and tender, but as wild staving beast whose hasn’t eat in days.
Incredible powerful. It was like watching an octopus playing the drums without missing a bit.
He hasn’t aged a bit. A master of his instrument.
Jimmy?
Think about Jaco and Jeff Berlin and how amazing these players are.
You did? Good!
That’s what come to my mind about Jimmy’s playing last night, simply, superbly well done. You know how bass’ solos can be so boring and dragging well in my case I am not a big of bass solos. However, That wasn’t the case of Mr. Johnson. An exceptional player.

The most surprised part of the whole show was hear two cuts from the Tony William’s life Time band. Where Allan was a guess back in the 70’s. Wasn’t that amazing or what! What a great treat!! Allan funnily said “Ops! Sorry about that”.
What a great night that was. I don’t care much today that am totally broke because the money was well spend and it was worthy every single dollar.
I even got free Ice cream because the waiter forgot to bill me that also made my night. they wanted $8.50 for It.!! Ha!
Thanks for your time. Darkisideof.
