Topic: Sandrose Posted: August 02 2007 at 20:37 |
Any Sandrose fans?
Yeh of course there are..One of, if not the best early prog outfits to feature female vocalist...If no ones heard them i guess now's a good idea. The track ''To take him away' is one of the greatest pieces i've heard.Steve Hackett (Genesis) style guitar, superb keys...The Mellotron/Harmony at the end is truly beautiful..You gotta love it folks.
Even though they are French, it's hard to notice unless you listern to Rose Podwojny vocals very carefully...I'll buzz off now before this turns into a mini review

Yes to the first and please go one, why not review it here as well?
Love the music and her voice.
As for Fusion Orchestra, I should be getting Skeleton In Armour soon.
Except for the female vocals, does it bare resemblance to Sandrose?

No Sandrose are more delicate.'Skeleton in armour' is superb though...Another to get your teeth into although you won't find it on CD is Mad Curry from the Belgium, now these are a fantastic band with female vox..

If you like Sandrose, try Earth & Fire or Analogy. Both symphonic early prog with female vox.

Indeed Memowakeman, I smell some Mellotron !
For me Sandrose their eponymous album is one of the best French progrock albums and quite overlooked here on Prog Archives. I love the great female vocals, the powerful guitarwork and lush Mellotron sound It reminds me of early Earth & Fire but more raw and emotional.
