MANEIGE - this fantastic group Quebecois, which composed gorgeous music as heard on the magnificent Les Porches and the cheerful and upbeat Ni Vent... Ni Nouvelle; their first two albums (s/t and Les Porches) have fnially been re-issued by Prog Quebec (http://www.progquebec.com/) and I urge people to take the opportunity to get these.
I guess Les Porches would win by popularity but it is just a means to get the attention of our members to this wonderful band, share your thoughts and recommend it and tell to those who don't know it yet how wonderful they are the tell about those re-issues.
For USA online webstores:
(there are others of course).

I really enjoy the first album, but Les Porches is really impressive. I was really let down by Les Porches Live, though. Nearly all the little details I enjoyed in the songs from the first two albums were lost.
Don't know their remaining work, both studio and live. What do you guys recomend I should get next? Edited by Kotro - October 08 2007 at 16:13 |

I'd go with the releases following Porches - Ni Vent and Libre Service.

I have heard their first three album, albeit it has been some time since I have cracked them out for a spin, which seems somewhat blasphemous! From memory Ni Vent... Ni Nouvelle was the disc which really hit a soft spot with me. I also love the cover. One day I will have to hunt down a vinyl version for the trophy room.

While a superb artwork, this is strongly inspired from Yes' CTTE innerfold.
Actually between NV,NN and Libre Service, I'd go with the latter, which is definitely more accomplished the same way Les Porches was more accomplished than their debut album.

Did anyone buy the newly re-issued two first albums? (I did...).
Not many fans, eh?

I just ordered them from ProgresSon, I don't know when I'll get them, though.
