I read about FUTURE KINGS OF ENGLAND, THE in several places and in PA as well a while back and got intrigued but never got to listen to a full album.
I read one review in Progressive Ears and got even more curious but there are no reviews here in PA and I was wondering if anyone here has listened to them and would you recommend them? and if so, which of their albums?
Thanks!

The Future Kings of England are the best new band I've heard in a long time. Think Pink Floyd's "A Saucerful of Secrets." Thematically it''s a little different. Instead of space and UFO's they gravitate towards dark supernatural themes. Witches, witch hunters, insane mustard farmers, mermen etc. But this is NOT like Black Sabbath. All songs are instrumental except for one.
There is a sight offering free legal downloads with a trial subscription that has both releases. I don't know if I am allowed to mention the site here so google it. I started listening almost a year ago and have been addicted to them ever since. If you want the whole disc "The Fate of Old Mother Orvis" is better than the first effort but I do recommend BOTH releases. If you want to check out a couple of songs first try "The Fate of Old Mother Orvis", "Lily Lockwood" or "Silent and Invisible Converts."

Wow, I gave up on getting a reply, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.
I get a better idea of their sound now.
I'll be getting their albums when I'm a little less broke.

The Old Mother Orvis album is well worth buying, particularly if you like that early Floyd soundscape music as that's what they sound like to me.
They are listed here as Krautrock though which is clearly wrong. Mark Edited by Uncle Spooky - April 18 2008 at 05:58 |

The Flower Kings are from SWEDEN, not England!
Oh, wait... |
