Well not so new since it was recorded 27 years ago on March 3 1979 at the Havana Jam Festival. Jaco Pastorious, Tony Williams and the guitar master himself let her rip for 30 minutes of relentless jamming. Also featured are studio cuts of the live tracks plus alternate takes. This was a one off as the players were never to play with each other ever again. Produced by McLaughlin himself who also provides liner notes. A must have for McLaughlin freaks!

Yep, I got it a few months ago. Need to dig it out again actually as I haven't had a chance to play it much.

Some of us don`t spend our whole lives on a computer. HMV  in Montréal just got it on Friday so did Archambeault Music. Sorry I posted this.

I mean, I`ve said this before not all of us has the time to be on the site 24 hours a freakin`day 7 freakin`days a week. A topic posted in say, June 2003 has all the possibilities of resurfacing in one form or another at a future date. I`m sick and tired of the guys who belittle members who unknowingly post a topic which has previously been posted. The newer guys do this a lot. I do it from time to time. Just go with it and lay off. All you do is turn people off of prog archives withyour know-it-all attitudes.

Don't spend your whole life on the computer?  Seriously??
I actually discovered it recently at my local chain store.  It's usually a bit of wasteland, but I was pleasantly surprised to run across it browsing.  I  hope "Trio of Doom: isn't prophetic.  Jaco and Tony died 10 years apart.  2007 puts John 10 years away from Tony.  "Hang on John."

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Going to see him next month so I hope he hangs on till then. But seriously, I check the local record stores when I`m downtown to see what has come out. I couldn`t be bothered to search an overcrowded internet. As I`ve mentioned before the first and last time I tried to buy some CDs from the bloody internet I got burned out of $200 and had to cancel my credit card and get a new #. I started out in the early seventies by hunting in the record stores and that`s what I still do. So in the future I won`t report on anything "new".

What you will find is that Abstractlogix(?) have issued a legit bootleg recording of the first show of J McLaughlin's tour.

VB this site has a lot of teasing - I certainly get a fair share myself - so don't take it to heart, I welcome being pointed in the direction of something I missed. If you want to read something beyond teasing, go to the Fusenest website, read the recent run of correspondence between Gary Husband (keyboardist and second drummer on the McLaughlin tour ) and a critic of that first show - it all got bloody and then apologetic.

Look, I can take teasing I dish out my fair share here but that June thread you refer to had nothing to do directly with the Trio Of Doom disc and I don`t look at every single thread that pops up. Believe me, if the post would  have said " New John McLaughlin CD, Trio Of Doom out now " I would have been on it straight away.
I tried to get on this web-site you`re talking about but couldn`t find it. Can`t find the bootleg either. My computer skills go back to the days of the caveman you know. Really. I really don`t bother with the computer that much. Anyway, we`ve got good seats for the Montréal show next month. Seen him 3 times already and was completely blown away. I don`t really go to many concerts anymore but for John I`ll make an exception.

Got it. I think there`s a store here in Montréal where I can order the 4th Dimension
" Bootleg" as well as the Mahavishnu DVD. Thanks. I have a poor quality vinyl Mahavishnu " illegal " bootleg from `73 but it`s practically unnlistenable.
