Both from the UK. Both with multiple vocalists/instrumentalists. Both with a hot female vocalist. Both in crossover prog. Both new to the progressive scene. Both have "reason" in their name.
Who's musicquisine reigns supreme?
Is this the start of some kind of trend? ![]() Edited by Slartibartfast - November 28 2007 at 12:31 |

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

Pure Reason Revolution have been one of my favorite recent discoveries. I think that I am wearing out their CD. However, I haven't heard of The Reasoning, and therefore I can't properly do a comparison. But if they are as good or better than PRR than I definitely have some exploring to do.

Not the proper place to post this but I was looking at The Reasoning's Artist page and I did not see their main website listed, so I went a looking and came up with the following: http://www.thereasoning.com In case any one is interested in checking them out. Also, I know this should be posted somewhere else, but if an admin sees this could you please update their artist page. Thank you. |

^ Yeah, that's a really cool looking website.
![]() I've had PRR's new album since early this year and The Reasoning's one for a few days. I think the main difference is PRR has a more psychedelic edge to them and The Reasoning has a more metal edge. I picked tie. Edited by Slartibartfast - November 28 2007 at 19:48 |

PRR is the better group.
I've listened to both groups albums and it isn't even close, imo.

After reading several positive reviews of The Reasoning's album, I was disappointed of it when finally listening to it; not bad, just not as good as I had expected but when listening without "prejudice" I could see the merits of it, though I still wasn't too impressed with it, not a bad album, just to me personally there wasn't much that left any big impression and didn't make me want to listen to it again (which I did several more times to give it a chance). I would recommend it though as I am sure it will appeal to others (this thread being a proof of that). Maybe later on, something will click. For now, it has not find its proper target area in my brain. I added PRR to PA and their music, for me and amongst all the various sorts of music I like, does find the right receptors in my brain, making me want to listen to it again and enjoy their vocal harmonies, their smooth and spacey style. |

Something really clicked with me listening to the Reasoning streaming track even though they do have a bit of a more AOR style to their music. That streaming song that was posted for PRR certainly hooked me on them as well.
