I've heard this one, excellent stuff!
I'm also a fan of Hawkwind's Text of Festival, a collection of live recordings from 1970-73. There was a spate of semi-official Hawkwind live albums in the early eighties and this is my favourite. The recording quality isn't brilliant but I love it!

Whilst we are at it, I would like to add a 'health warning', i.e. those radio recordings on CD which may disappoint you:
Jack Bruce Radio One In Concert LIve. If you believe what Clapton and Baker tell you on the excellent double Cream documentary DVD, Jack Bruce, again here has his bass set to 13 and largely drowns out the rest of the band, including Chris Spedding, Graham Bond (and this must have been one of his last recordings) and Jon Hiseman. The imbalance so much spoils what potentially could have been a great set. Edited by Dick Heath - December 21 2007 at 08:25 |

Oslo '74 is amazing, definitely one of the best I've heard... The Bremen and Rotterdam shows (from the same tour) ain't bad either! |

Return to Forever - Return to the 7th Galaxy (aka Return to Forever the Anthology). Not the entire cd (unfortunately) but four previously unreleased live songs from radio broadcasts were included. "Spain", "After the Cosmic Rain" & "Bass Folk Song" originally broadcast on WLIR-FM, included the original guitarist Bill Connors. "The Shadow of Lo" originally broadcast on WQIV-FM, included the follow up guitarist Al di Meola.

No offense meant to you, Bob, but do we have an "official" definition for bootlegs here at the forum? What are the defining features that make something a "bootleg" over just an unreleased/unofficial performance? Is it along the lines of an audience recording vs. a soundboard...? |

...mhm...
![]() Genesis: As I said before the concert at the Rainbow Theatre is available on the Archives Vol. 1 Box Set (albeit in edited/overdubbed form) ELP: Live At Anaheim is a very good concert (at least for a fan) available as a "bonus" 3rd disc on "ELP: The Ultimate Collection" Yes: I have heard that a couple of songs from the (I believe now out-of-print) compilation "Classic Yes" are taken from the Live At Wembley 1978 show. For anyone who wishes to seek out those official releases: Enjoy the (partial) recordings, good Samaritans ![]() |
