As much as I dislike the band, Brainville should be included in this list if for no other reason than to make people aware of them and draw their own conclusions.  Brainville was a sort of hybrid of Canterbury, inmprovisational, and noise rock styles.  The included Daevid Allen, Pip Pyle, Hugh Hopper, and Mark Kramer.  They released one studio album on Shimmy Disk called "The Children's Crusade", and I believe a live album as well.

I am not fond of this group, but I am sure that others may be.  The membership dictates their prog credentials.

damn surprised  that wouldn't have been added...

I'll second that!! Where is the Canterbury team???AngryLOL
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
