Topic: Well I Finally Joined Posted: January 18 2008 at 08:29 |
Hello. Known about this site for quite some time now but until recently never thought about joining the forums.
My name's Jordan I'm from Sheffield, England and I'm eighteen years old. The biggest Rush fan I know a d also love bands like Pink Floyd, Genesis, Marillion, Dream Theater and Yes (I know that's the more obvious/common stuff but I wanted to be able to connect with everyone and most people dig that stuff). I'm a member of TheRushForum.com if anyone's ever been over there and also the infamous Metal Sludge although as I listen to more and more Prog-Rock and increasingly find myself having to force myself to listen to Van Halen or Poison I thought it would be better if I became part of a community where I can discuss Slippermen and Prince By-Tor and people would actually understand/care.
Hopefully I won't be wasting your time making this thread and will pop in as often as I can.

Hey Jordan! Welcome to the ranks, dammit! Rush is like THE most popular band around here besides Genesis, so if they are your faves, then you will definitely have an easy time getting friends :)

Metal Sludge! I love that site! Especially that section called "The Long and the Short of It" ... Seriously, I am a big Rush fan (as it should be obvious from my screen name) - but NOT a DT fan, I'm afraid. I'd rather listen to Van Halen (not to Poison, please )... BTW, welcome to PA! Just remember to use the Search function before you start any DT- or Rush-based threads!

Wasting time is always fun. Like right now I should be studying for a History exam I have on Tuesday. So far the only thing historical I've studied are the lyrics to Bastille Day... Not good when the exam is about 1930s German Foreign Policy.
Oh and ain't nothing wrong with Van Halen but lately I find myself having to put in effort to listen to them and I'm looking at the counter on my CD player to see how long the song has been on, it's just not as fun lately as it has been. Eventually I'm sure I'll get the urge to put Fair Warning or whatever on but for now I need a rest.
But yeah thanks for the welcome all of ya!

I had that happen with Genesis, and i have never since had the urge to put on any Genesis at all. Or Yes, for that matter. Or ELP.
