Combination Head is a new band made up of ex-Camel and Jethro Tull member Paul Burgess and the main composer is keyboardist Paul Birchall. Give them a listen on thier website:
What do you think?
They also need to be added to Prog Archives!!

Indeed, they should be added.
I'll pass this to the Symph team.

I actually thought they're already here.
Cool music, like the way the spacey sound mixes well with the symph-rock.

IF THE BAND ISN"T IN THE ARCHIVES THE TOPIC BELONGS IN EITHER GENERAL MUSIC DISCUSSIONS OR THE SUGGEST SECTION IF YOU ARE SUGGESTING THEM FOR INCLUSION.
We say this over and over and over again.....
How hard is it to understand?

Avestin - Thank you for your kind replies. Yes, they have a great spacey feel added to symphonic prog. Very good stuff. Melodic too but still intelligent.
Progtologist - I am so VERY sorry that I made a mistake. I bow down and BEG for your forgiveness. I am not that smart it seems and need to learn to read better. I will NEVER make this mistake again. I wouldn't want to ire you! By the way, realizing that it might be too much to ask from such a busy person, would you like to add a constructive word about the TOPIC of this thread? Please? dalt - they're not included in the archives yet, but they were being discussed last week. Maybe someone can tell you the outcome, I've been away for a week.
Small request: if you post a band here, could you put the name of the band in the thread title? |

Combination Head were rejected by the Eclectic Team some time ago (it was towards the end of last year), and as far as I know have been submitted to other teams. I have listened to them myself and agreed they were not suitable for Eclectic. Hopefully some other team will give them the thumbs-up.

dalt,I apologize for the tone of my post.
I didn't mean to imply that you were dumb,or anything else, and didn't mean to shout at you.I just had a busy, frustrating day and to top it all off I have a killer headache.
Sorry man.
About the topic....I have heard of the band but aren't familiar with their music.Sounds interesting though.

Angelo and Ghost Rider - Thanks for the info. Hopefully they will get the "OK" from a team in the near future. I was thinking they would fit into "Crossover Prog" but that's just my opinion. Good idea about adding the name of the band in the title of the topic!
Progtologist - apology accepted. I could tell it was an outburst of frustration of a general matter. Hope your day goes better today! Sorry for not seeing this lounge in the first place

I've take the liberty of adding the band name to the thread title, hope you don't mind - it just makes it easier to track.
Xover will take your recommendation and give them a listen.
/edit: Ooops!
We looked at them back in December and said, "based on their MySpace samples - No for Xover"
My feeling is that often bands put their most accessible tracks on MySpace, so could sound more mainstream or AOR than they really are. So, I think we would like to hear more before making a final final decision. Edited by darqDean - January 27 2008 at 06:59 |

I'll try and get hold of a full-length and send you more samples. I feel that more examples are needed in this case.

Q.E.D.: opinions vary and are subject to change - and no rejection is final by definition. Great work!
@Dean: silly me - I have the same tool box and didn't get around to changing the title |
