Every once in a while I'll go on a Cult of Luna binge where I'll listen to Somewhere along the Highway maybe five times in three days. With that I may listen to Salvation a couple of times, but the first two songs are too harcore-ish for me to sit through comfortably.

I'm sure this will just be a battle between SAtH and Salvation, and of course I'll vote for Somewhere.

Favorite tracks of the two albums I own-

DIM!
Waiting for you
Marching to the heartbeats
Finland
Leave me here
Crossing over
Dark City Dead man

Eternal kingdom (which will be quite kick ass) will be coming out in two months BTW!

still only have the song dim and then "Somewhere Along the Highway"
so far it hasn't really clicked, though dim is pretty good as well as some moments on SAtH.
Ive gotten so much new music that its hard to keep up with the CD's ive had for a while. I never gave CoL a ton of listens, just a 'oh thats nice' and then moved on. will be picking up the newest though and giving it the attention it deserves. is SAtH their best or if i want to get into them is there a better point than what i have?

Definitely Somewhere... The band really started to expand and explore with that one. The first two albums were pretty plain, but good for being just straight up doomy metal. Salvation is still a bit too much at times, but it is a fine record.

I am a big Salvation fan. I haven't listened to Somewhere... that much. I lost interest for some reason.

The new album will most likely revive it.

You know the song dim is on somewhere along the highway right? Anyways, at some point you just need to drill the album, kinda like choirs of the eye, but to a much lesser extent, and all of the sudden you'll find yourself saying "wow this is a really great album". That my friend, is how masterpieces are made.
