Hi everybody!
I wanted to suggest you The Running Man, a british prog band... I'd classify them as ecletic prog, because of long pieces which blend jazz influences with Cream-like heavy rock and improvisation, and short Procol-like songs for piano and vocals.
The band was founded in 1972 by jazz guitarist Ray Russell, formerly player with Georgie Fame and Graham Bond, and also had yet released 2 records, with drummer Alan Rushton. The trio was completed by keyboard player/singer Alan Greed, and released an eponymous album for Neon, RCA's prog label. Sadly, the band split up after Neon's failure.
Here is a review fo the album.

*bump*

I wouldn't mind some mp3s for evaluation, Alberto, if you think they're a prog band.. sounds interesting from this blurb -

If I recall, the Eclectic team is still on this. I was brought on after this suggestion was made...so...

I will look into it promptly.  Smile

I styrongly believe that Running Man should be an album filled under Ray Russell, who's recorded many more....

He's most likely a very good addition to PA
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

If Running Man was formed as a band, even with a one-off, we'll add it accordingly. Ray Russell founding it or being the brainchild doesn't sound like it must be treated different from others.

On the official site, R.R. doesn't mention Running Man among his solo works. Or at all, for that matter. Nor does AllMusic.
