I love country music.  When it is good, and real country music that is.

On the poll I'm a big fan of Willie, Hank, Hank Jr. and a fan of J. Cash, Waylon, Merle, Flying Burrito Bros (back when Gram Parsons was a part of the group), Dave Allen Coe, and Charlie Daniels for sure!

Although I consider the Burrito Bros and Daniels rock with big country influence in them, or rather Country-rock as it is known.

Willie though was and is quite prog.  I'm gonna request his addition.  haha. He is, but I'm not gonna.

Aside from these poll listees I enjoy femmes like Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris, older Dolly, and gents like Gram Parsons (and his old band), Buck Owens and his Buckaroos, Duane Eddy, Floyd Kramer, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, the country-rock albums 68-73? of the Byrds (brilliant!), and more.

Like prog, there is plenty of great music in the Country, Country-rock genre.

So, hang on, hear me out.  Now, country might not be a complex and demanding genre but it does (well, did) have many unique voices and great songwriters.  Not all country is radio friendly pop dreck.  Come on, it's alright to admit it, your a fan of at leats one or maybe even a few of these guys.  I picked my favorites, which just so happen to be "outlaws" or closer to have some rock edge.

Time always wins.
