ARGOS is a new german band composed of two musicians of SUPERDRAMA,
Thomas KLARMANN and Robert GOZON, with drummer Ulf JACOBS. This first
album, made of fourteen concise songs and instrumental pieces, is a
splendid Seventies orientated Progressive music, sometimes mixed with
pop influences (THE BEATLES especially). The compositions are based on
dominating keyboards (Analog Mellotron sounds, organ...), smooth and
sober vocals. Refined acoustic guitars sometimes remind GENESIS, while
the delicate and dreamy atmospheres recall CAMEL, PINK FLOYD (Early
Seventies), CARAVAN and HATFIELDF AND THE NORTH. Nice vocal harmonies,
beautiful flute parts give this music a special charm, warmful and full
of positive vibrations, soft and dynamic in the same time, enhanced by
a good production. Very pleasant, and refreshing.

If they want to make it internationally, especially in England, someone should really tell them what Argos is in the UK.

Sure. Argos is one of the largest retailers in the UK, with over 700 shops throughout the country, maily specialising in catalogue wares.
If a band calls itself 'Argos', this is what they will undoubtedly be associated with.
I don't think anyone will get the Greek association, as was probably initially intended.

There's probably a copyright on the name over here - they'll get sued!

Good band, they need a wider recognition, for sure one of the pleasent surprises lately in prog scene, at least the latest Circles is a real solid and intristing one.
