Can anyone explain why Nightwish and Epica are considered Prog (hence their inclusion in Prog Archives) but Within Temptation are not? To my untrained ears all three bands sound as if they belong to the same genre.  Am I missing something?

I don't know anything about any of those bands, but is it possible that Within Temptation just hasn't been suggested for inclusion?

It has been: Within Temptation (?!)
Why did you reject Within Temptation?

The Nightwish and Epica additions are controversial as is, so no need to compound the problem (I seem to remember reading that Nightwish was added before there was a working PM team and doubt it would meet today's more exacting standards -- though I believe that Epica was accepted by the PM team).

^This, and as I understand, Epica is said to have more complex compositions than either, though I'm not familiar with them. Plus, Nightwish was more complex in their earlier power metal days, and only their recent albums are similar to Within Temptation.

Great pop-goth metal band, but hardly prog IMO.
