Topic: Cherry Five or Goblin, Roller Posted: February 28 2010 at 12:38 |
We all know Cherry Five put out one album and then certain members went on to form Goblin. Which album do you like better? Cherry Five's self titled album, or Goblin's Roller?
I choose Cherry Five.....but not by much.

Roller is my favorite Goblin album, outdistancing my next favorites Il Fantastico Viaggio del Bagarozzo Mark and more distantly Profondo Rosso. That being said, aside from those Roller and Viaggio (and less so Profondo), I'm not a huge Goblin fan. Or of soundtrack music in general.
I do love Cherry Five, however.

Personally, Roller had some really dark atmospheres to it. Cherry Five, though not bad, I found dervitive.

I just stumbled upon Cherry Five accidentally when I was reading about Goblin. I like Goblin to an extent but I have never been a fan of soundtrack music. That being said, I think Roller is a terrific album. I feel it has good qualities of light and dark, has some really good grooves, and is quite adventagious.
When I got Cherry Fives album, I found myself liking it so much that I was wondering what they could've come up with if they had been together for another album.
