I've complied a list of my all time favorite progressive rock epics. In order to make certain rules I only included compositions that could fit on one side of a vinyl record and nothing under 15 minutes.

Please vote for your favorite and sorry in advance if I overlooked any of your favorites!

Lots of excellent ones, but I went with the immortal "Supper's Ready."  Personally, I prefer "Hemispheres" over "2112" and "The Gates of Delirium" over "Close to the Edge," but it's your list.

Yep, Hemispheres/Cygnus X-1 Book II is another great one and the album is definitely much stronger than 2112 due to the weak second side. The Gates of Delirium has really grown on me over the last few years and to be honest I gave Close to the Edge the upper hand only because of the magnificent live performance on Yessongs.

This is tough. I voted for Caravan but could have just as easily voted for Supper's Ready or Echoes. Went with Caravan because it looks like they need some love.

This is an amazing poll because it shows the power of vote splitting.

Between "Close to the Edge" vs "Supper's Ready," the former generally wins.

However, here, "Supper's Ready" is winning by a large margin.

Suppers Ready from the list. I would've gone with Hemispheres had it been here... I think. Actually I may still have gone with Supper. Good thing its not here then LOL

I'm voting for 2112 on something of a whim. I love almost all the ones you posted, but 2112 has a special place in my heart. It was the first thing I ever heard by Rush (actually, now that I think of it, it may have been my first prog epic. Can't remember) and it was at a time when I was discovering my political views and reading a lot of Ayn Rand. There's just something magical about it for me, particularly the section where Alex tunes up the guitar and his playing becomes more and more complex as the protagonist in the story learns how to play it. I think that section is genius. Big smile
